Work hardening tendency: Stainless steel (e.g. 304, 316) hardens rapidly due to plastic deformation during the cutting process (surface hardness can reach 2-3 times the initial), resulting in severe wear of the drill edge.
• High strength and toughness: Containing chromium, nickel and other elements makes stainless steel strong (tensile strength 500-1000MPa), ductile, high cutting resistance, and easy to collapse the drill bit.
